Check out what Tony thinks on Adebayor
Tony Cascarino thinks perhaps it's the right time for Arsene Wenger to cash in on his Togolese asset:"Arsenal are ending the season strongly with new signing Andrey Arshavin playing his part. I had no doubts he’d be a success with the club as the way they play completely suits the lad’s game. Players like Arshavin need options in terms of passes to impress and Arsenal are one of the best teams in the business in that respect."One of the main factors in Arsenal’s resurgence is the return to form of Kolo Toure. The defender seemed to have lost his way and looked to be on his way out of the club but weirdly, since announcing that he and his centre-half partner William Gallas don’t like each other, they’ve both done really well."With the season nearing its end, once again Emmanuel Adebayor is being linked with moves away from the Emirates. This season the Togolese striker has just not turned up and looks the perfect example of a player who thinks he has made it and has lost his hunger as a result. Don’t get me wrong, the big hitman is as good as anybody when he has fire in his belly. His performance at White Hart Lane last season when the Spurs defenders couldn’t live with him showed just how good he can be. Unfortunately he hasn’t shown the same desire all season. It would seem getting his new £80,000 contract in the summer has led to the lad resting on his laurels rather than fighting to show he’s worth the cash."I wouldn’t be surprised if Arsene Wenger decides to cash in on Adebayor in the summer for £20million or something and brings in a new big powerful striker for a fraction of the cost."
For me, no selling until we have a strong bench and backups for positions. But the price will be a big temptation for the board.

Is it still possible for Arsenal to win the BPL?
What an amazing turn of events for Arsenal football club, cumulating to the highlight of the weekend just passed. In the past 3 weeks or so, Arsenal has convinced our distracters that there is still life and there is still blood in this young Arsenal team.
At the tail end of Jan, we went on a run of 5 consecutive draws. Starting with a 1-1 draw with Everton, we proceeded to decimate our season by going on a goalless run of 4 matches against West Ham, Tottenham, Sunderland and Fulham. It really felt like we are becoming the ham in the sandwich (totally helpless!) as we fall further behind in 5th place as Aston Villa creep up to overtake us while Manchester United were streaking away at the top.
As all hell breaks lose and calls for Wenger’s head began to crescendo, the team found a second wind in March. The boys found their scoring boots and it was raining goals in the premiership and FA Cup. We did have to struggle against Roma in Rome for the Champion’s league, but prevailing from the penalties seemed to have added an edge to the Arsenal players. Instead of feeling fatigue, the players seemed to be more determined to scrap and tackle and commit to a game with more gusto. With the defence holding firm, our performance in March allowed us to overtake Villa. (which has started to become more like their new nickname of Villalose)
The comeback of Arsenal have coincided with the return of Eduardo and Walcott, and also with Andrey Arshavin getting match fit by the games. The three players were so happy and eager to play that their attitudes show on the pitch. Arshavin even had 9 stitches in his foot against Blackburn at half time so that he can play the second half! With such commitment, its no wonder that he scored his first goal for us in the very same game. As a whole, the three players’ enthusiasm has rubbed off onto their teammates and even the grouchy Eboue has become more active and smiley, no doubt helped by his recent influx of goals.
It still seemed a near impossible task to catch the 3 above us, but all that changed within the last 2 rounds of the BPL. Manchester United were thrashed by Liverpool 4-1 and then surrendered meekly to Fulham with a 2-0 score line. Chelsea tried hard but somehow, our nasty neighbour, Tottenham Hotspur, did us a huge favor by ensuring that a 1-0 lead became a 1-0 final result that they can be proud of.
Is this the turning point that we are wishing for all season?
We are surging forward everyday with the improving match fitness and health of Arshavin. He brings with him experience, maturity and a willingness to get down dirty to get the job done. In Arshavin, I believe Wenger has got himself the next 'Cantona'. This may be the start of the Arsenal Dynasty.
With Fabregas and Adebayor coming back within the next 2 weeks, Arsenal is given one last chance to barge into the top 2 position of the BPL. With the top 3 to play against us in the remaining 8 games, it will be a cracking finale and I retain my right to dream of lifting the premiership title together with the FA Cup and Champion League title!
Go Gunners!!!

A good weekend...
A good weekend for me…. Shd I say wonderful since its been so long that it was so eventful? Hahhaa….. boring me…
On Friday night, , the mrs and I with 2 of our friends went to watch the Arty Farty show of ‘The Reader”. How artistic can we get nowadays? Being new to the so called “culture vulture” tag, I was determined to open up my mind to this aspect of the world that I have shunned so long. Well….. I shd have stuck with Watchmen and all that action stuff… To put it bluntly, The Reader is a book/show not to be read….. Intriguing would be a word that is too strong while horrible may be too mean to describe a movie deemed worthy of winning a Academy Award for Ms Kate Winslet. While my good friend, “Boon” thought it was interesting, I cant help but to feel that he is lying about it to make himself look more culture vulture about it… hahahaahaaa…. Even the Mrs was bored with it and she was very surprised that I was still awake at the end of the show….
I was back into something more action packed on Saturday. Or an activity that I thgt would be more action packed….. Prawnings!
It was a rainy afternoon, pouring at times….. Me and a few old friends had agreed to travel up north to do some serious prawning by the ponds. Not cheap I shd say but not too ex compared to drinking… $30 for a 3 hour attempt to make good your money.
The signs were great. I quickly settled down and within 10 mins, had caught my first tangible size prawn. I was thinking, maybe, just maybe, my luck is changing with this prawn thingy. Hahahaa…..
BOY! Was I wrong...!!?!?!! 2 ½ hours later, I only caught 3 miserable prawns!!! My fellow comrades fared no better with hits of 2, 3 and 2 respectively. I decided to seek some expert help……
Seeing a young lady pulling up prawns at a rate of 1 every 3 mins, I gravitated to her side. After a few simple hellos, she mentioned that the real experts were behind her. I turned around and saw a couple of old heroes relaxing at the back. She was just their entertainment. Hahahaha… everytime she pulls one up, one nice uncle will help to remove the huge prawns and adjust the bait for further prawning.
After more conversation and hearing the distinct advice from the uncle, I tried to practice my little flick of the wrist that would ensure the prawn is caught. The first attempts were disastrous and I suspect was a source of laughter for the heroes behind me. Hahhaaa…
FINALLY, after god knows how many times, I got my reward. In addition, I perfected my flick, which shd be aptly named the Rick’s flick! Hahaha… within the last 15 mins of my purchased time, I think I caught about 7 prawns including some for my friends. With the new found skill, we in total caught 19 prawns which were instantly barbecued and boy, do they taste good! J After years of paying my school fees, finally, I am getting some reward. Feeling so happy and satisfied with this trip..
Sunday. Gone in a flash but in short, it was another round of being ‘BROTHER’ for my good friend, Samuel. After 9 long years of courtship, he is finally getting married to Carol. Very happy for them! (Sam and Carol, if you are reading this, Congrats!! And wishing you a blissful life ahead!!!)
Well, all the things associated with being brother happened again. From the banging of the doors, to fetch the bride, to drinking, singing, cheering etc etc…. the world day was truly exhausting… Anyway, I think I am too lazy to detail it again. In summary, it was a very happy day for my friend and I am grateful to have contributed to its success.
What a busy weekend and a truly eventful one! Tired like shit.. Monday blues is going to hit hard….. (And of course, my beloved ARSENAL thrashed the shit out of Newcastle and we are going for the jugular now! GO Gunners!!!)

Newcastle vs Arsenal
We travel to St James this saturday to face Newcastle this saturday.
Not sure if Wenger is going to play 'miss' king Bendtner against the quick Coloccini but Toure and Gallas must get their act together to deny once-mighty goalscorer Owen (a shadow of his best after joining newcastle)
Our AA battery is going to be charging at Newcastle porous defence no longer with the commanding presence of Shay Given. With Nasri by his side and hopefully, a more potent striker (i.e RVP) at his best, I believe we can nick another win to pile the pressure on to Aston Villalose before they face loserfool at Anfield on Sunday.
A respectable 2-0 win for Arsenal!Go Gunners!!!

The story of the Duck
A very good piece of advice came through to me yesterday.....
A Duck is a Duck and he is very talented and fast in the water.
However, his boss wants him to run on land instead.
The hardworking duck tried his best but well, no matter how fast he went, he is always a bit slower than the chickens.
At the same time, the webbed feet of the duck began to wear out because of the constant running....... as a result, he eventually lost his edge and competency in the water.....
Morale of the story? Do i need to say more.....

What should be done to Diouf for his tackle on Almunia?
I hope everyone remembers the tackle in the Blackburn game. Diouf came flying in when he had no chance of getting the ball.
His tackle is similar to what Taylor did to Eduardo and could have had the same effect. I have never seen Almunia so upset before but i reckon he is entitled to.
I think that shd be a straight Red plus a 5 match ban. What do you think?
Options:
1) Not a foul (Are you blind?)
2) Yellow Card (the ref was right)
3) Red Card(the ref was blind)
4) Red Card + 5 match ban (the FA wakes up)
5) Red Card plus a good bashing (will never happen)
I am inclined to go with 5)

A hard fought victory....
Its more of a sigh of relief than a yelp of happiness when Arsenal won on penalties against Roma in Rome. What a mess of a match... but well, the important thing is we are through....
I guess that is much better than what is going on at work at the moment.... life sucks...

Champions League: Roma vs Arsenal
Tonight, Toure, Walcott and Eduardo have travlled to Rome and will play in the crucial match against the Romes. Roma is still keeping mum over whether Totti and Vucinic is going to play.
Off the pitch, a booklet circulated by Arsenal have warned the fans: ''If you travel to the stadium independently, please be aware you are at risk,'' ''Do not take trains to the Piazza Flaminio or attempt to use the Ponte Duca D'Aosta bridge as these are habitual routes taken by the Ultras. Please stay away from the Campo De Fiori."
Think it is going to be a very serious affair.
Believe with our current form, we will beat Roma and prevail to the Quarter Finals.
Go Gunners!!!

A Singaporean Joke
I heard this yesterday. Quite funny:
Foreigner to Singaporean: I did not know that Singaporeans are cannibals.
Singaporean: huh? Who said that? We are not.
Foreigner: Yes. I heard Jessie(company secretary) speaking to her husband on the phone just now. She said, " Tonight, I eat myself, you eat yourself!!!"
hahahahaa..........
I guess only the Singaporeans will get it...

10 match ban for violent tackles
Wenger has been very vocal lately with his comments on Ronaldo, BPL and the sheets.....
One thing that stands out is his comments about tougher punshiment for crazy tackles. I think Taylor only got a 3 game ban for his tackles on Eduardo last season. That is really not acceptable at any level.Similar horrible and devastating tackles should be punished by a 10 game ban or more.
The F.A. should do more to stop this kind of shit from going on.It may be true that Wenger's comments coincide with Eduardo's and Walcott's return to add further cover for them but it must be said that the FA has been really procrastinating on this topic for too long. Why the FA did not action on this more important aspect of the game instead of horsing around daft ideas like goaline referees and orange cards is a big big question mark for me!

Quote of the Week
Quote of this week is from Dr. House:
People dont learn, People dont change.
How many of us are guilty of that? Life is trying to teach you those little lessons that can change and improve you as a person, improve your life or improve your reach to people. But people just dont learn --> people dont change.......

The Final Run in... for 4th Place...
Maybe its a bit early to look at the last 3 BPL games but well, since i was on it......
We have Chelsea(Home), Man U(Away) and Stoke (H) while Villa will meet Fulham (A), Boro (A) and Newcastle (H). Who has the easier run in?On paper, it seems our last 3 games look tougher but actually Chelski and Manure will want to play football and not park a bus in front of their goalmouth. Man to Man, PLay to PLay, we actually have a better chance of securing a win against them. I am hoping that by the last game, Stoke would have been dead and buried and hence, not fighting so hard for survival.
Villa going to Fulham and Boro will be tough as Boro proved over the past weekend by beating Loserfool to destroy their title hopes. A visiting Newcastle fighting for their survival (which I think they will still be on the last day as long as Owen is injured) will also be tough to crack.
Hope we dont have to go to our last Ace to win this battle for 4th place. That will be too stressful for all gooners around the world.
The revival must begin today at WBA! Cut the lead to 3 points and stress the young ones at Villa. Come on, GUNNERS!!! Shoot Shoot Shoot for GOALS!

Andrey Arshavin
Arsenal - Fulham
Another disappointing 0-0 draw. What can I say? 4th in a row at the Emirates in the league. We have an amazing 10 draws already with a third of the season left. Is this Arsenal or are we becoming Bolton or god-forbid the now defunct Wimbledon?
There is no leader on the pitch. No one is taking responsibility and shooting the ball. You may criticise that Henry was a selfish guy but at least he wanted the ball and he wanted to SHOOT. No shots, no goals. As simple as that.......
Eboue shown how he can dilly dally the other night, while against Fulham, Nasri and Vela were similar culprits. As the supporters screamed and screamed to shoot, they keep trying to get a better angle or a better shot or a better pass to create the perfect goal. NO Thank YOU. Just get a goal first! the rest can come later.
1-0 to the Arsenal used to be the song... now it seems this team is not enough worthy of this song. Will Eduardo or Walcott or Fabregas be our answers? If so, when will they be back? and What about a 30+ goal scorer of Adebayor? will he return to form in time for us to get back into the top 4?
I sure hope so. If not, lets win the CL to qualify for the CL then!!!
